Role Play Actor and Assessor - Rowland

Originally trained via an Honours Degree in Drama at Hull University.

Worked as an actor and facilitator for touring companies including IOU Theatre, the Pip Simmons Theatre Company and Welfare State International. On a freelance basis led hundreds of drama workshops and workshop projects with – children; young people; elders (in day centres and residential homes); adults with learning disability; and those recovering from mental illness. This work involved substantial amounts of role play.

In the late 1990’s was Founding Director of ArtReach, a cultural consultancy and large scale arts festivals producer. Established ArtReach over twenty years as a charity and an Arts Council NPO, producing and directing festivals in the UK (including London’s South Bank) and across Europe.

In 2018 returned to acting with an MA Acting at East 15 Drama School. Has subsequently secured roles in many short films and independent feature films, and delivered narration for classical concerts and featured in music videos and new writing platforms. Enjoys role play as a means to gain new experiences and hone acting skills in a variety of settings.

In the past has delivered role play for social services, secondary schools and for corporates, and has led many training programmes for community and cultural sector participants.
